So Sorry

I'm terribly sorry I haven't posted in quite some time. I've been extreamly busy, and in the past week I was actually quite sick. I never get sick, and it was quite hard to realize how sick I was and cope with the fact I was sick. I'm all better now though, even though I'm still really tired.

I wear dresses a lot, and in the winter, I am perpetually cold. To overcome this, I just wear a lot of tights, but latley, I've discovered that all my tights have runs in them because they're getting so old. Tights are something I wear all the time but hate buying because I feel they are too expensive for my tight wallet and their tendancy to be ruined in a second. Especially since I do things I probably shouldn't in tights.

I have also thought about buying knee-high socks. I play soccer, so sometimes I just pull out my soccer socks, but black ADIDAS socks are quite obviously made for pushing people around, and sometimes don't look right.

Oh well. I suppose it will be something I'll man up and buy eventually, because I really do need to keep myself warm just throw away my old tights.

Rain rain, come today

It was raining a bit this morning before I left, so I grabbed my little sister’s umbrella and realized that umbrella’s are fascinating accessories that are virtually forgotten about. I loved holding that umbrella. After poking around a bit today on the internet, I also realized how many different designs and patterns umbrellas have. There are millions of umbrellas out there, just waiting for consumers to use them! It’s so weird, I even found a glow in the dark umbrella, so that as you are walking in the dark rain people will see you. There are people in this world who design umbrellas for a living, and today was the first time I’ve ever willingly taken an umbrella to actually use.

Also, thinking more about them, I pictured what it would be like to stroll along a private beach in the summer with an umbrella. I could have it either opened, like a parasol, or closed, just swinging it around.

On top of that, I can’t stop thinking about how umbrella is such a weird word.

To read or not to read.

I am terribly sorry that I haven’t been posting more, but due to the fact that I’m in several different activities, not to mention school and especially scholarships (I have been doing at least a million a day... or at least that's what it feels like), I haven’t had much time to devote to myself much less anything else.

All that aside, I was reading a few Seventeen magazines the other day, and I have decided that I hate most fashion magazines. I think the ideas are just so old and recycled. They don’t have a spark of originality, and don’t go nearly into enough depth. Now, I realize Seventeen is for a younger reader set then say, Glamour or Vogue, but still. That isn’t an excuse.

Fashion magazines either go way out of their way, trying to find the most up-to-date item at the most unreasonable price to just trendy, average items, that didn’t take any thought into picking out. I just don’t see any creativity anymore, and it makes me sad.

I just want something different and something real to look at in a magazine.

Will you marry me?

Possibly the best accessory in the world is big rings. I absolutely adore them, and I have an amazing amount of them, especially considering I have just recently started to wear rings. I even have two rings that are two finger rings. (Hmm, that's difficult to word without looking confusing.) They always finish an outfit and add just a little bit of my personality, and I cannot imagine what I would obsess over if it wasn't them. I have recently been looking to expand my collection, but alas, with the cold weathers, Dairy Queen is still closed and I have no source of income.

Thinking ahead

I know it's winter, but I can't stop thinking about them. Swimsuits. I think they are one of the most intimidating items to buy, but maybe I just have had some very negative experiences with them in the past. Due to my parent's religion, I have never worn a bikini. I have had a few tankini's back in the day, but last year I had a cut out one piece, and a very modest one at that. This year however, I am planning on showing a little more skin and sexin' it up a bit. I'm nervous.

They have always created problems, because I never could wear a bikini but wanted to, and now that I can, I don't want to let my pasty white skin and not perfect stomach out for the world to see. I'm not shy or embarrassed by my body, but no one's perfect, and I know I will be sucking it in for awhile before I become comfortable.

Where to get them is another problem. Most of my favorite stores don't even have swimwear. Alas, I will have to spend a LOT of time finding the perfect suite. So far, I've found these:

(Left to right: Target, Victoria Secret, and the bottom two are American Eagle.)

Oh gosh, the dilemma. I think I shall just go everywhere and try a lot of them on, and probably even mix tops and bottoms, such as the top and bottom from AE. I guess I do have a few more months to go until I really need one, though.

That's Unnatural!

One of my favorite places to shop is Forever 21, and I am very girly. Sometimes, though, I just want to do something, to add some color, and be unexpected. So I got these hair extensions from Hot Topic.

I've only worn each once, and I only do one streak insead of both, but I really like it. It's something different, and people deffinatly notice. I have really dark brown hair, so the pink stands out a lot. The purple catches the light and is a lot more subtle, but the effect is still there. I really just like the idea of wearing them to change a boring outfit.

Boots boots boots everywhere

So, it is back to school again. Last semester of senior year... oh boy! It hasn’t fully registered yet that this is the last time I’ll ever be in high school. Ah well, bon voyage, petty drama. I shall miss you, and I’ve learned some things from you along the way.

Fashion is a must in high school, and there is one main rule: the three most important fashion days are the first day of school, the last day of school, and the day second semester begins. I, for one, have never looked down on these days, or the followers who dress up, but I don’t understand it. I try to look good every day of the year for myself, not three days for everyone else to be amazed at me.

I think almost every girl had on Ugg boots or up-to-the-knee wedge boots today. Ugg boots are everywhere. Everyone argues over them, most guys think they are hideous and ugly, while girls insist they are comfortable. I’ve never worn them, and I don’t plan to. I don’t have anything against Ugg boots, but I don’t really like knockoffs in things such as Uggs and Converse. Fake Uggs are not for me, although for most other things, I say go the cheap route. I just avoid Uggs because they aren’t really my style. I think they’re cute and practical but I love my black rainboots with colorful poka-dots, and these boots that I just got.

I’m thinking of wearing them tomorrow, with a skirt and a very feminine top. I’m excited to dress up on the second day of the second semester. :)

(Just for the record, I had purple tennis shoes on today. And you can see my goldfish if you look very closely. He's black, has huge eyes, and I call him Fred.)
